(NOTE! It is possible that all or part of the file may still get sent to the printer and print.)

Resolution: What is happening is that there is a problem with the margin settings that you are trying to use.

1. Go into Printer Setup and make sure that you are selected to the correct printer.
2. Go into Page Setup and check your paper size is correct
3. Still in Page Setup check your margin settings to see if any are rather large (Example: Over 6 inches each left and right where top and bottom are set to .5)

4. Try to adjust your margins to a normal setting and print again.
5. If the above is not working please be aware that it is also possible that your FX3 file has corrupt margin settings. Test this by opening a new blank FX3 file and drawing someting like a line or placing an object or two and attempting to print. If you see no error and you find the margin

Can I quickly connect points in my FX3 or FX2 diagram with lines manually?

Abstract:

Applies To: FX3 / FX2

Article Title: Can I quickly connect points in my FX3 or FX2 diagram with lines manually?

Yes you can do this manually and it is an easy process.

First thing of course it to import your points. Then select your snaps tool (shown above) which is an icon that looks like two magnets facing each other, and then choose the poly tool (shown above toward the left).

With snaps turned on and the poly line selected you will notice that as you move your mouse toward a point it will highlight in a green circle. When this happens you can left click and the line will 'snap' to the point. This also allows the line to automatically obtain the elevation of the point it is snapped to which makes 3D diagramming very easy.

See the below image to see an example. Although you cannot see my mouse pointer in this example you are able to see what it looks like when you hold your mouse close to a point while drawing a polyline using snaps.

How do I adjust the pivot point on a vehicle or object in FX3.

Abstract:

Applies To: FX3

Article Title: How to adjust the pivot point on a vehicle or object in FX3.

You could have many reasons for needing to adjust the pivot point on a vehicle or object. One of the main ones is likely moving the pivot point on a trailer.

For example: In this image we see a trailer that has its rotation point in the default location. At the top I have highlighted the green grip used to rotate an object, and at the bottom I have highlighted the grip used to adjust the pivot point.

As it stands right now if you rotate this trailer it will rotate around its center when you rotate it like this:

IMPORTANT: To actually change the rotation grip please do the following:

1. Left click on the object (trailer in this case) to select it
2. A small preview of the object will appear in the lower right of the screen in the properties area (under the drawing area)
3. Find the blueish grip and left click and hold on it. Now drag it to wherever you want the pivot of the object to be.
4. Note the change visible for the rotation point and rotational grip on the main object in the drawing area.

<IMG hspace=0 src="http://

How can I do an animation in FX3 that involves more than one separate impact?

Abstract:

Applies To: FX3

Article Title: How can I do an animation in FX3 that involves more than one separate impact?

For this example I am going to explain how to animate a 3 vehicle collision where two vehicles collide and then one goes on to hit a 3rd vehicle.

First thing is to setup your first impact as a normal two vehicle collision using pre and post impact paths for both vehicles, with one exception. For the vehicle involved in the second collision set its post impact path to go to the point of impact with the 3rd vehicle and then to its final rest position (or to wherever you need it to go).

Now position your 3rd vehicle at the point of collision with the vehicle coming away from the first collision. To line it up easier left click on the animation path segment leading into the collision for vehicle 2 coming from its first collision, and under actions left click on the option that says 'Lock Ghosts On'. A transparent model of the vehicle will now stay visible on that particular animation path segment so you can setup that 2nd collision. Don;t forget to select that same animation path you locked the ghosts onto and under actions choose 'unlock ghosts'.

Now that your collision is lined up you can setup your pre and post impact paths for vehicle 3. Left click on vehicle 3's animation path and uncheck the options that says 'Autosync collision time'. This will make it so that you

I true vision 3D error when I try in access 3D in FX3.

Abstract:

Applies To: FX3

Article Title: I true vision 3D error when I try in access 3D in FX3.

Please see below for an example of the error. There are then two ways to draw the bullet path.

1. Click on the line tool (not the poly line) and draw your line from where you want the shot to start and where you want it to end.
- a. Click on the line and select the option under actions (bottom left of the screen) which says "Convert to =>"
- b. If you find your image by using the mouse to click and drag the issue will not occur.

Here is an example: You find the general area you want and zoom in. When looking for your image you pan around using the blue navagational arrows. When you insert your image it will at that time appear correct. When saved and then reopened the image the Virtual Earth will find is whatever image you were looking at before you started to use the blue arrows.

You can also see part of the issue if you pan using the blue arrows and then hit the zoom. It will zoom without an issue but the image will jump back to where you were before touching the blue arrows.

These issues are known to our development team and will be repaired in a future update to our product.

How can I hide vehicles that were captured in a Virtual Earth photo?

Abstract:

Applies To: Virtual Earth

Article Title: How can I hide vehicles that were captured in a Virtual Earth photo?

This article explains how you can hide the cars that were on the road at the time the image you are trying to use from Virtual Earth was taken.

The first thing you need to do is to find the image that you want to use within Virtual Earth, and bring that image into FX3.
