How To: Import Measurements into EdgeFX

Importing measurements into EdgeFX differs from importing into FX3 mostly in the initial interface areas. Instead of going under “File” as you would in FX3, measurements are now dealt with all under their own tab at the top of the toolbar.

There are “three” options for importing, Import, Import from mFX and Import Point Cloud.

The first option, , will bring up the following window. This allows you to import from a mobile device, directly from the Total Station, from a file you have saved on your computer, from a Trimble Survey Controller or from many other data collectors.

Selecting Total station will bring up the next window, which allows you to select your Total Station, set up the port and communication settings and receive the data from the station.

Selecting “Other Data Collector” will bring up a window where you can select the device you are using from a dropdown menu.

Selecting “Next” will then take you to the mobile device you have connected to your computer so that you can select the file you wish to import.

Once you have done that and selected “Import” the final screen will come up, asking how you want the data to be imported. Once you select “Finish” the data will be imported into EdgeFX and you can begin your diagramming.
